Restaurant Services
Restaurant Services is the program I chose to pursue in at TCTC. I wanted to expand my knowledge of the restaurant industry.
Items On The Menu
To the left are the pictures of food on the menu in the restaurant “The Cove.” The Cove is the restaurant at TCTC that is completely ran by the students.

Every month TCTC has a literacy contest. I had participated in the Promote Your Program contest and had won. This letter was written to shopomores on why they should choose my program. My program instructors were so proud of me, that I got to read it to the shopomores on Career Day.

Different Cuisines
To the left, the first photo is of Ratatouille. Last year, I had gotten the opportunity to work with one of our seniors in making this complex dish. The other photos are of our program making homemade noodles for spaghetti. We had ran it as a special in the Cove. The Cove is usually lunch foods, but we did get the opportunity to work with breakfast foods also.

Being a Kitchen Family
The Restaurant Services program did a lot for me. I had made life long friends, and when you are in a kitchen you become family with the people you work with. I became friends with people that I would never become friends with on my own. The bottom of this page is a video and the picture of a cake, Taylor Sartini, had baked for my birthday. I usually do not like my birthday but they made sure that this one was a special one.

Field Trip
|
To the left, are pictures from Walnut Hill Farm. The owner had came in and talked to us about the difference between grass fed farms and factory farming. Being in the restaurant industry, you should know where your food is coming from. So we had went and visited his farm.
|
To the right is a slideshow form Pittsburgh Technical College. We had toured the college and watched the chef fabricate a chicken.

To the right are pictures from the restaurant services program at Mitchell’s Fish Market. We had gotten to dress up and make the trip to see a fine dining experience.

TCTC Time
TCTC has the news channel that is shown to the whole school every Tuesday and Thursday. We call it TCTC time. Below is a segment that I had done about making overnight oats, which could be a good breakfast or lunch. I also had gotten interviewed for TCTC time with Mrs.Daley. The interview was just about our program.

Chopped Competition
Every year the Restaurant Services program puts on a chopped competition. To the right is a video of all the dishes that were put out of the kitchen. We also made a completion for the dining room to decorate a table however they wanted. I am beyond happy with how it turned out.

Although, my team did not place in the kichen portion I am pretty proud of how things turned out. Ireana Hilty, has placed second place in the dining rooms portion as part of our team. I am pretty proud how much hard work and teamwork went into making this dish.

Carrying On...
To the right is a slideshow of me teaching juniors how to manage the kitchen. Since I am a senior, we have to teach the juniors how to run the kitchen for next year.

My Instructors
All my instructors have influenced my life in different ways. Mr.Antenucci (above) has taught me everything I know by the books and pushes me to be the best me.
|
Mrs.Gillies (above) has taught me how to juggle manager and friend. She taught me how to have a backbone.
|
Mrs.Daley (above) has taught me how to be the best me I could possibly be. She has influenced my life in so many different ways. She hired me at her restaurant (Breakfast At Tiffany’s) and I couldn’t be happier. She is an amazing role model and I hope to be like her one day.
